CSIRE 2022 (Application Closed)

The program plans to offer two tracks this year: 1) remote; 2) in-person (COMMUTER only). Note: We will not be able to provide a residential option this year.  The program is for US students only. 

Good programming skills is among the prerequisites of the program.

Dates: June 27 (Monday) to  August 5 (Friday), 2022

Cost: $2,600 
Financial Aid:

There are a limited number of full and/or partial scholarships are available to applicants who are eligible for the Federal free or reduced lunch program.  Please submit a  letter, on letterhead, from an official at the school district  or the letter you received stating that you are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program in order to be considered for a scholarship.   This letter must be included with your application.

Veteran Dependent Scholarship:  To increase awareness and family needs of U.S. Veterans, we will be providing a scholarships through support from the National Science Foundation to students who are VA dependent.  Scholarships are limited and are provided to those students whose parents are veterans (gold star parents, active duty, retired military).  For further information, please contact Professor Romeil Sandhu (romeil.sandhu@stonybrook.edu). Proof will be required.

Eligibility: Students must be at least 14 years old at the time of program.  Programming skills are REQUIRED. 
Hours: Monday - Friday (virtual)
Mentors:  Faculty and Ph.D. students in Departments of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics
Housing: 

Remote or commute. No residential option.

   

Research Activities: Students will explore topics in a research area in machine learning,  biomedical informatics, population health, data science, human computer interaction, visualization, IoT, networking and security, among others. 

Seminars: During the program, students are afforded the opportunity to learn about areas of computer science and biomedical research from Stony Brook University faculty.
