Radiology Informatics Micro-credential
Welcome to Stony Brook University Hospital’s Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Radiology Informatics Micro-credential.
The micro-credential program in Radiology Informatics is a 4-year program open to radiology residents at SBU School of Medicine. This fellowship-level program is offered through Departments of Biomedical Informatics and Radiology. We are currently recruiting for the academic year 2022-2026.
The program is designed to provide the trainees with a comprehensive foundation in a variety of skills at the intersection of radiology informatics and clinical healthcare. The curriculum comprises topics including but not limited to PACS and RIS systems, algorithms and pipelines for imaging and clinical Informatics, hardware and software requirements, business of informatics, teleradiology, machine learning, etc. A core component of the certification program would involve mandatory participation in a radiology informatics research project under the mentorship of supervising faculty members. The program is intended to serve as a springboard for future career opportunities in both private and academic centers.
