Presents:

The East West Informatics Workshop

“A Forum for Linking Biomedical Informatics Driving Applications to Computer Science, Applied Math and Digital Media Methods, Techniques and Tools”

The purpose of this forum is to highlight opportunities for faculty and graduate students to collaborate on existing biomedical informatics projects (both clinical informatics, imaging and “omics” related projects).  The first part of the workshop will consist of an overview of Stony Brook Biomedical Informatics initiatives followed by five (5) minute summaries (Lighting Talks) of biomedical computing applications and of potentially applicable CS, applied math / digital media areas of research.   The second part of the workshop will consist of breakout sessions to explore potential interdisciplinary research thrusts.   In the medium to longer term, it is expected that interdisciplinary connections will lead to academic collaborations, publications and externally funded research
