BIOGRAPHY
 
Dr. Gerald Kelly received his DO from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital. He is board certified in Family Medicine and in Clinical Informatics. A member of the Stony Brook Medicine senior executive team, Dr. Kelly serves as Chief Information Officer, having previously served as Chief Medical Information Officer for Stony Brook University Hospital, and holds an academic appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Biomedical Informatics. He brings more than 25 years of experience as a practicing Stony Brook Medicine physician, with longstanding relationships with patients, staff, clinicians, and leadership across the health system.
 
LEADERSHIP AND INNOVATION
 
As a physician executive, Dr. Kelly has led the deployment of virtual care platforms across multiple venues of care, launched analytics platforms supporting the Stony Brook Medicine Clinically Integrated Network (CIN), and implemented enterprise communications platforms across the health system. His work focuses on building technology platforms that elevate the patient experience of care, improve the health of populations, and demonstrate value across the health system, with attention to health system expansion, automation, and population health integration. His scholarly interests include telehealth-enabled transitions of care and the use of electronic health record interventions to improve screening and linkage to care.
